What you tell us. When you request a visit, send a message, apply for a role or ask our assistant a question, we receive what you typed — typically a name, an email address, a phone number, which community you are asking about, and anything you chose to write.

What your visit tells us. Like most websites, ours records the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and which browser you use. This is how we know which pages are useful and which are not.

If you have a portal account. Members and their families sign in to a private portal. What that holds — care details, messages, documents, billing — is described in the portal itself and is not shared with anyone outside the people you and your community have authorised.

To answer you. An enquiry about a community is a request for a reply, and that is what we use your contact details for.

To run and improve the site, and to understand which of our pages help families make a difficult decision.

To meet our obligations as a care provider, and to keep records where we are required to.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone who wants to sell you something.

We do use suppliers to run the site, and they necessarily handle data on our behalf: our customer records system, our hosting and database provider, the service that sends our email, and our website analytics. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

The site uses cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your preferences, and to measure how the site is used. You can refuse or delete them in your browser; the public pages will still work, though the portal cannot keep you signed in without them.

Enquiries are kept for as long as we are in touch with you and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records relating to care and to residency are kept for the periods the law sets for them. When information is no longer needed for either, we delete it.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops marketing without affecting messages about your own care or account.

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

This policy is about the website. Health information held by a Vista Springs community is governed separately, under that community's Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided when a Member joins and is available from the community on request.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
